Ever ask yourself how does an idea become the next big hit? How did the creators of Angry Birds make it big? We admit we don’t have all the answers but what we know is that monetary resources is a must.

MDEC is organizing a competition to support the local creative multimedia industry, and here’s what we know.

The competition is open to both amateurs and pros from the creative multimedia industry and it consists of 2 rounds of pitching, judged by a panel of creative industry leaders.

The first round requires participants to present their most original creative and story concept. Once shortlisted, they move on to the second round where participants will be grilled on their production and commercialization plan to take their IP from paper to market.

At the end of the competition, winners will receive:
– a sum of money
– a development lair in Cyberjaya
– unlimited access to Malaysia Animation & Creative Content Centre’s (MAC3) facilities
– consultancy from industry leaders
